Flowers in the Katapola Landscape

These are some of the flowers I saw on my walks around Katapola this week.

Since starting this page, I have discovered Flora Amorgina

The countryside is densely green.  There are some asphodels, a few very vivid red poppies, a few purple anemones (many look weather beaten and have lost a lot of their purple colour, some grape hyacinths, some vivid blue lupins, mandrakes, almond blossom and many others.

At times it was difficult to photograph the flowers, as the wind was so strong.

  3. Thank you, Adrian. I've changed the names. It was the way that the mandrake grows flat on the ground that made me think that it was a "squirting cucumber". This is the "squirting cucumber" (Ecballium elaterium) -
