Arrival in Greece
Many people arrive in Greece on a boring old charter flight and forget public transport for a couple of weeks (Susan, do not sneer at charter flights so much, all your earlier trips to Greece were by charter!)
I usually catch a late night flight from London to Athens, and arrive at Athens in the small hours (3 or 4) in the morning. If I have managed to get a seat on an internal flight I linger for hours at the airport waiting for a flight at eight or nine o'clock, or catch the first bus to Piraeus and catch one of the batch of ferries that sets out about between seven and eight in the morning. Before long, I will be on one of the Cyclades…………..
