A splash of Greek red for a white English Easter

It is late March 2013.  There are just a few poppies flowering in Amorgos.  In places I see small patches of poppies, but many of the petals have blown off the plants.

I took the photo below in May 2011.  The number of flowers, and the places where they are prolific, vary from year to year.
